Face of Childsure began in September 2009 when mum Alison Thornberry, founder of Childsure decided to run a little competition to find the face of their new brand of children’s health insurance.
Childsure would like to thank all of our brilliant contestants, voters and judges (including Jimmy Choo, Steve Backley OBE, Wendy Turner Webster, Leila Wilcox & Donna Lakin ,the winner of our Become a Judge competition at Christmas). We have had over 20,000 public votes and over 1,200 entrants in the competition and our judges thought long and hard to decide on a winner.
Jimmy Choo is an internally renowned shoe designer based in London best known for his line of high end women’s footwear made popular in such shows as Sex and the City. Legend has it that he made his first shoe when he was eleven years old. The meteoric success of Choo’s shoes enabled him to diversify and offer other luxury goods to his legion of fans. Celebrity fans of the brand include the late Princess Diana, Hilary Duff and Sarah Jessica Parker.
Steve Backley OBE is one of Britain’s favorite athletes, winning gold three times and breaking the world record at Javelin. Married with two little girls, Steve has been of fan of Childsure since launch understanding it’s benefits for a happy healthy family. Steve now gives motivational and inspirational talks about his winning mentality.
Wendy Turner Webster is a TV Presenter, event host and facilitator, author, writer and speaker. Wendy is best known for fronting seven years of Channel 4's Pet Rescue. As a mum to Jack and Freddie, Wendy was a perfect choice as a judge for Face of Childsure.
Leila Wilcox is the winner of Channel 4’s Make Me A Million and founder of Halos n Horns and Angelis Insurance. Leila’s career started after the birth of her son Troy, unable to find a cure for his eczema, Leila created Halos n Horns which is affordable, free of nasty chemicals and sold nationwide in most supermarkets.
Elliott Brown are one of the UK’s leading commercial model agencies, which provides a broad range of male, female, and child models for photographic, film and video work. Clients include major advertisers and catalogue companies, and with over 1,000 professional models and professionals on their books, including sibling and family groups, as well as hand, feet and leg models, home economists, stylists, hair and makeup artists.
Donna Lakin is a fan of Childsure who won the chance to become at judge through Childsure’s ‘Become a Judge’ competition.
